Chuck didn't take the traditional path to becoming one of Ohio's most experienced School Resource Officers. A high school dropout from Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood, he turned his life around through service – first as a U.S. Navy photographer aboard the USS Midway during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, then through a 25+ year career in law enforcement with the Willoughby Police Department.
For over 14 years, Chuck served as the SRO at Willoughby South High School, building relationships with students, staff, and families while keeping his school community safe. Today, he serves as Program Coordinator for the Willoughby-Eastlake City School District, overseeing school safety across 13 buildings in partnership with six police departments.
Chuck holds Master SRO certification through the Ohio School Resource Officers Association, NASRO Practitioner credentials, and serves on the board of the Ohio Police & Juvenile Officers Association. He wrote The School Resource Officer Handbook to share the practical, field-tested lessons he wishes someone had handed him on day one.
He lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife, Jennifer and several dogs.
